NOPGA JUNIOR TOUR AT FOX DEN IN STOW

While the Southeast Pirates’ girls team was playing Good Park, the girls from Kent Roosevelt, along with other juniors from Portage County, joined golfers from across Northeast Ohio at the NOPGA Junior Tour event at Fox Den Golf Course in Stow.

In the Girls 16-19 age division, Adrianna Mineo earned seventh place in a tough field, carding a round of 81 that saw her shoot 7-over-par on the front, but rebound for an outstanding back nine that was only 3-over-par.

Brooke Beatty tied for 13th place (85) and Kathryn Ennemoser carded a 114 to take 27th place.

Mica Thiron of Ravenna and Jackson Sarver of Aurora and Jacob Rainieri of Mogadore tied for ninth place in the Boys 16-19, all shooting 75.

Ninth place was a popular finish for local golfers. Andrew VanDamme of Kent earned ninth place in the Boys 13-15 age division, carding a 5-over-par 76, and Nicholas Pollak of Aurora shot a 79.

All-in-all, it was a successful day for the junior golfers from Portage County as they faced some of the best in Northeast Ohio.
