It was an exciting tournament as 35 teams competed in the Portage County USBC Handicap Doubles.

Each team competed in the four-game qualifying round before the field was cut to the top-eight teams. Those teams, making it through the qualifying, rolled two more games to earn their way into the step-ladder finals for the top-four teams.

Colton Riddle-Jacob Garrett were pitted against Angie Hughey and AJ Byles, with Hughey and Byles winning the match.

Byles and Hughey continued to face Alicia Lindon and Ashley Kuhns, winning that match as well.

The Byles-Hughey team faced Aleks Kiss and Zac Renkel for the final as the close contest ended with Kiss and Renkel earning the championship.

PERFECTION

Bowling in the Garden Spot League, Connor Stevens rolled a league-leading 300 game on his way to a 769 series. Only Brian Walker topped Stevens for high series, tossing a 264-778.

For the women in the league, Teri Plaso tossed a 257 high game and Aleks Kiss, who won the Portage County Handicap Doubles Tournament, with her partner Zac Renkel, earned high-series honors with a solid 651.

The week prior, the Garden Spot/JBL Roofing League saw another 300 game tossed by Brody Justice, who also earned high series honors, a solid 804. Kristen Moore led the women, 234-637.
