The Portage County USBC have posted their first tournaments sponsored by the association of the season.

The Second Annual Youth Open will be held at Spins Bowl in Kent on Oct. 26 beginning at 10 a.m.

The Junior-Senior Trio is set to roll-off at Kent Lanes on Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.

Watch for information on registration information at area lanes.

A PERFECT GAME

It is always nice to bowl a 300 game in front of your teammates and competitors in league.

That was the case for Robby Roberts in the Garden Spot/JBL Roofing League at Spins Bowl in Kent.

The league bowls on Wednesdays at 6:30 as Roberts accomplished the perfect 300 game on his way to an 802 series.

Only Bob Smolko topped him, but only on the series leaderboard obviously, bowling an 803 that included a 279 high game.

Jolson French broke into the top three as Roberts and Smolko were battling for the top of the leaderboard. French rolled a 296 game, just missing his own perfect game and finished with a 779 series.

The women were enjoying their own success on the lanes as Aleks Kiss led the league 266-702 followed closely by Teri Plaso 247-668 and Sarah Plaso Rudawsky 224-583.

300 GAME PARTY

The 300 games actually started in the Perfect Fit Trio League on Monday at Spins Bowl as both Ron Elwood and Chris Osborne accomplished 300 games on the same night.

Elwood rolled a 1,026 series to lead the league. Troy Workman was only two pin shy of Elwood on the high series leaderboard.

For the women Kirsten Moore rolled a 269-973 and Zoe Bevilacqua tossed a 268-915 for runner-up. Ashlee Cool’s 204 and Lisa Osborne’s 734 also made the top three in the league.

BEST AT SKY LANES

No perfect games were bowled in league reporting, but Sky Lanes’ Nate Williams rolled a 266-645 as the highest game series for the week among the men as Vince Fortney topped his league rolling a 268-659.

For the women, Melissa Deakins tossed a nice 247-622 and Ryleigh Gough found her mark for a 229-623.

BEST OF THE YOUTH

At Sky Lanes, Lily Stottlemire rolled a 119-208 in the PeeWee league and Colten Workman 201-464, was the best on the lanes in the Saturday morning youth league.

At Spins Bowl, Dominic Madden, 210-524, and Jackson Adolph 202-506 both broke 200 for high games and Theo Aken bowled a 119-214 to lead the Bumpers league

High school bowlers are getting ready for the upcoming season in the High School Match Play at Spins Bowl.

Colden Prater, a member of the Kent Roosevelt boys bowling team, rolled a nice 224-549 and Brayden Burnett of Ravenna tossed a 187-460.

The girls were led by Jordyn Brigham (187-460) and two Southeast golfers straight from the OHSAA District tournament, Emily Morrison 170-456 and Aubree Varga 124-336.
