  • The day was filled with fun competition that also included 17 high school student-athletes assisting teams around the course, using skills from their specific sports as part of the All-Sports Competition part of the golf open.

Southeast High School golfers (left to right) Aubree Varga, Jessi Mix and Sammy Morgan were all on hole 16 on Sunday, driving foursomes down to the fairway for clean approach shots.

  • A special thank you to all of the teams!

Aurora’s Ryan Dwyer (left) and Streetsboro’s Cohen Klimak were two of the football players on Hole 9 on Sunday, helping golfers by throwing Nerf Vortex footballs to try for pin shots after foursomes teed off on the long Par 3.

  • A special thank you to the admin team, including Susan Jenior, Mike Jenior, Tom Nader Sr., Kyle Nader, Kevin and Jamie Nichols.

The foursome representing the Mogadore Athletic Boosters, which featured Aaron Pendergast, Dillon Pendergast, Heather Gasaway and Cory Gasaway, won the championship. Congratulations on an incredible round!

To win the title, the Mogadore four shot an incredible 18-hole score of 48. To get to their incredible score, the group, along with all of the foursomes, received assistance from the student-athletes, whose shots were considered bonus shots and did not count toward the score of foursomes.

Golfers teed off, football players through Nerf vortex footballs for approach shots, soccer players juggled to reward foursomes to move up to the closer tee boxes, volleyball players passed or served approach shots.

It created the most unique golf scramble experience for everyone involved and led to an exciting day of competition, but not in place of enthusiasm.

Mogadore’s Tyler Pendergast was on Hole 12 at Sunny Hill, teeing off for golfers and driving them well into the fairway on a consistent basis.
