Gracyn Vidovic, of Aurora, has enjoyed a stellar high school golf career.

Advancing to the state tournament as a junior, she has made a place near the top of the leaderboard at high-school tournaments and Northern Ohio PGA events.

Headed to Ashland University to play golf this fall, Vidovic is not just relaxing this summer before the grueling schedule of classes and golfing as a collegiate athlete.

Vidovic recently competed in the Northern Ohio PGA’s Junior PGA Section Championship — a qualifier for the National Junior PGA Championship — and bested the field of 38 golfers, carding rounds of 70-73 for a 143, 1-under-par, total.

Winning by three strokes on a hot and humid day at Medina Country Club, Vidovic advances to the National Junior PGA Championship at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex at Purdue University at the end of July.

Joining Vidovic are NOPGA section qualifiers: Dixon Hill of Waite Hill and, for the boys, Silas Kirkpatrick of Clinton and Ethan White of Chagrin Falls.
