The first five weeks of the 2023 season included losses for the Ravenna Ravens, but they have now run off back-to-back victories following Friday’s convincing 49-13 triumph over Coventry.

The Homecoming Game win for the Ravens comes one week after earning their first victory of the season over Field.

On Friday, the Ravens raced out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter on touchdown runs by Austin Marshall (9 yards) and Jaxxon Kelly (21).

Ravenna continued to extend the lead, scoring 21 second-quarter points.

Dominic Burch added a 1-yard touchdown run, CJ Ross found Bobby Melzer for a 33-yard pass and Kelly scored on a blocked punt returned for a score.

Austin Marshall added his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter, breaking away for a 44-yard TD.

Ke’Shan Talbert closed out the scoring for the Ravens, running into the end zone from 4 yards out in the fourth quarter.

Ravenna’s running game was balanced, with six different ball-carries, and finished the game with 218 yards on just 24 carries (9.1 yards per carry average).

Talbert led the group with 75 yards on nine carries, while Marshall totaled 71 yards on only four carries.

Ross completed 7-of-9 passes for 107 yards and a score.
