Sell’s 207 yards power G-Men to seventh straight win

Keegan Sell rushed for 207 yards and scored two touchdowns to spotlight the Garfield G-Men’s convincing 42-21 victory over Liberty on Friday.

Sell scored the team’s first touchdown, a 54-yard run in the first quarter, then added a 49-yard second-quarter score that was part of a 35-point first half for Garfield.

The win for the G-Men, who were ranked 13th in this week’s Associated Press state poll in Division V, improved the team’s record to an unblemished 7-0.

Other first-half touchdowns for Garfield included an 81 kick-return touchdown by Deacon Sommer, while Brandyn Bogucki had a 56-yard run and Sommer added another score, but this one on a 17-yard reception from quarterback Eric Geddes.

Liberty has the most success to date against the physical Garfield defense. Liberty rushed for 261 yards on the ground and had 132 yards passing.

Garfield was also punishing within the run game, rushing for 370- yards offensively.

Bogucki finished with 79 yards rushing, while Geddes made the most of his single attempt, taking it 41 yards.
