Portage Sports reader Laura Lindberg shared this great photo of the 1949 Deerfield High School boys basketball team from the Deerfield Historical Society. Many of the player identifications are missing, but Laura shared that No. 10 is her father Jesse Carver, while No. 33 is Paul Richey and No. 55 is Gale Diehl.

Laura said, “These three pals graduated in 1951 as the first class to graduate from the new Southeast High School.”
