The softball preview for the Garfield G-Men 2023 season:

THE TEAM

Head Coach: Tina Faulhaber, 14th year, 182-101 career record.

Coaching Staff: Katie Synnestvedt.

2022 Record: 8-8 overall; 7-5 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference.

Returning Letterwinners (3): Kyndall Hahn, sr.; Lizzy Moore, jr.; Kolby French, soph.

Letterwinners Lost (5): Sydney Seaman, Annabelle Moore, Ella Brann, Ketley French, Cadence McGranahan.

Team Captains: Kyndall Hahn, Lizzy Moore.

INFIELD

Kyndall Hahn highlights the group for the G-Men.

She was named First Team All-Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference last season and has already signed to continue her career at the University of Mount Union.

Others expected to provide time across the infield, according to head coach Tina Faulhaber, include Juliana Genovese, Maddy Wilson, Kaitlynn Thompson, Gabriel Groves and Annie Rado.

CATCHER

Kolby French, who lettered last season during her freshman season, will handle the duties behind the plate.

OUTFIELD

Hahn may see time in the outfield as well, with CC Porter, Dezaray McIe, Allie Runewicz, Kaelyn Tasker, Ella Kissell, Stella Wallace and Laeyla Stier all expected to deliver innings.

PITCHING STAFF

Lizzy Moore returns to be the ace of the staff after pitching all of the innings in 2022.

Also available to pitch will be Genovese, McIe and Rado.

REASON TO BE OPTIMISTIC

“We have good team energy and a mix of experience,” Faulhaber said.

CAUSE FOR CONCERN

“We have a lot of new faces in new places,” Faulhaber said.
