The Kent Roosevelt girls golf team enjoyed a successful season, but fell just short of clinching a trip to the OHSAA’s state championship.

ADRIANNA MINEO
The Rough Riders fired a 356 team score, competing in the talented field at the Tanglewood Division I District that included top-four qualifiers Magnificat, Walsh Jesuit, Highland and Canfield.
With three seniors on the team, the Bryan Harvey coached Roosevelt girls also had two sophomores competing.
“This was a great experience for our younger players,” said Harvey.
Brooke Beatty, 89, and Makenna Ward, 100, are both sophomores who Harvey was referencing, but the Riders were led by senior Adrianna Mineo with an 84 that included six pars and a birdie.
Fellow seniors Kate Ennemoser, 91, and Kaila Kovolyan, 92, also concluded their high-school careers on Thursday.
