Field High School will be holding a memorial service for Donald Robinson III at tonight’s Week 7 Metro Athletic Conference game against Streetsboro.
Robinson III, who was a student at Field Middle School and member of the Field Youth Football’s varsity team, died tragically last Friday in a car crash.
The Falcons’ high school team will conduct 47 seconds of silence while standing on the 47-yard line. Robinson’s football number was 47.
The Field community is planning a White Out for the game.
Field High School alumni Deian Longgood will be selling raffle tickets for a signed and framed Michael Jordan jersey for $10. The profits from the tickets will be entirely donated to the Robinson family.
The Southeast Homecoming game was cancelled on Wednesday when St. Thomas Aquinas announced it was unable to play against the Pirates.
Mounting injuries and a small roster size impacted the Knights’ decision not to play tonight.
I will be at JAG Stadium in Garrettsville, where the running G-Men will host Campbell Memorial in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference matchup.
Garfield is atop the division and is looking to maintain the spot before meeting up with fellow league heavyweight Brookfield in Week 9.
Other key games tonight include: Rootstown at Warren John F. Kennedy, New Middletown Springfield at Waterloo and Streetsboro at Field.
At kickoff, the temperature will be in the high 50s with no rain.
Once the sun sets, though, it will get chilly again.
By the fourth quarter, still no rain, but temps will dip to the low 50s.
