The high school track and field state championships concluded on Saturday at Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

DIVISION I

LONG JUMP

Kaidyn Harris, Kent Roosevelt

   • The junior placed 15th overall with a jump that covered 16 feet, 11.75 inches. Olentangy Liberty’s Lila Bendick won the Division I state championship at 18 feet, 3.5 inches.

Garfield junior Conner Hunt won the state championship in the Seated Division’s 100, 400 and 800 meters. He is now a seven-time state champion.

4×100 RELAY

Aurora boys

(Luke McGobern, Quincy John, Ishaan Shaik, Luke Geyer)

   • The first Aurora relay team to qualify for the state championships since 2001 finished fifth in the state. The group ran a time of 41.72. The state championship was won by Wayne, which clocked a time of 40.82.

DIVISION II

400 METERS

Livia Martini, Crestwood

   • The Red Devils’ junior placed ninth in the state. She ran a time of 57.11. The state championship was won by Toledo Central Catholic’s Nyla King in 54.36. It was Iing’s third state title on Saturday — also besting the state’s field in the 100 (11.60) and 200 (23.76) meters.

3,200 METERS

Julia Wheeler, Southeast

   • The Pirates’ standout ran a time of 11:05.17 to finish in fifth place and with a podium finish. The state-winning time was ran by Athens’ Sophia Szolosi at 10:39.21. The state final was dominated by underclassmen and featured only two seniors.

200 METERS

Ethan Laryea, Streetsboro

   • The Rockets’ junior sprinted to a time of 22.11, which placed him as the fifth-fastest runner in the state. Coy Hyre, of Brookville, won the state title at 20.99.

110 HURDLES

James Durham, Crestwood

   • The senior landed on the podium with an eighth-place finish in 14.71. Fairfield Union’s Chayse Lipscomb ran the winning time of 13.70.

4×200 RELAY

Streetsboro boys

(Devon White, Braden Hodge, Ryan Roscoe, Ethan Laryea)

   • The quartet ran to a fifth-place finish in 1:29.05. White is the lone senior of the group, with the other three sprinters being juniors. Brookville’s time of 1:26.61 was the state-championship winning time.

300 HURDLES

Lucas Pollard, Field

   • The Falcons’ senior finished in ninth place during Saturday’s finals. He ran a time of 39.98. Chayse Lipscomb, of Fairfield Union, who also won the state title in the 110 hurdles, took home the top spot on the pdoum in 36.95.

DISCUS

Robert Melzer, Ravenna

   • The two-event state qualifier (also qualifying in the shot put and placing eighth on Friday with a throw of 54 feet, 8.25 inches) placed 13th in the event. His throw landed at 150 feet, 1 inch. South Point’s Derrick Taylor, a senior, won the finals at 185 feet, 6 inches.

DIVISION III

400 METERS

Julie Tompkins, Mogadore

   • The senior ran a time of 57.28 to place fifth in the state. Coldwater’s Isabella Zahn won the title at 52.89.

1,600 METERS

Emma Quillen, Mogadore

   • The senior’s time o 5:33.06 placed her 14th overall. The state-winning time was ran by Smithville’s Kaitlyn Carr at 4:49.44.

4×200 RELAY

Mogadore girls

(Ari Tompkins, Julie Tompkins, Jessica Holler, Ava Murphy)

   • The group consists of two seniors (Tompkins twin sister) and two freshmen — and finished seventh in the state. The quartet’s time was 1:45.30. In a very tight race, Oberlin’s relay group ran a time of 1:42.25 to win the state championship.

4×400 RELAY

Mogadore girls

(Julie Tompkins, Ari Tompkins, Jessica Holler, Kasey Bolyard)

   • The group finished runners-up for the No. 2 spot in the state. They ran a time of 3:58.15, which fell behind only Coldwater’s 3:53.94. The finish spotlighted at 14-point effort the Mogadore girls program, which placed them 14th overall in the team standings.

SEATED DIVISION

100 METERS

Conner Hunt, Garfield

   • The junior won the state championship in a time of 18.33.

400 METERS

Conner Hunt, Garfield

   • He won his second state championship of the day in a time of 57.47, besting the runner-up by nearly a full six seconds.

800 METERS

Conner Hunt, Garfield

   • Hunt made it a three-peat on Saturday, with a state-finals victory in a time of 2:03.18. He distanced himself from the competition, winning by more than 13 seconds.
