GIRLS GOLF

STOW LADY BULLDOGS INVITATIONAL

Both Kent Roosevelt and Aurora traveled to Fox Den Golf Course in Stow to compete in the Stow Lady Bulldogs Invitational on Monday.

The 14-team tournament was won by Walsh Jesuit (302), with Medina Highland (320) taking the runner-up spot.

Roosevelt finished in the top four behind Hudson (330) with a solid team score of 336.

The Rough Riders were led by sophomore Brooke Beatty firing an 8-over-par 79, good for a top 10 individual recognition.

Roosevelt also had strong rounds posted by Kate Ennemoser (82) and Adrianna Mineo (85).

The Aurora girls finished in 10th place behind the lowest score that was shot by Kelly MacSurak (85).

SPRINGFIELD LADY SPARTAN INVITATIONAL

Portage County girls golf teams were prominent in the annual Lady Spartan Invitational held at Chenoweth Golf Club in Akron.

Rootstown, Streetsboro, Garfield and Field all competed in the 18-hole tournament hosted by Akron Springfield.

The Rootstown Rovers finished second (395) and Streetsboro Rockets earned third (398).

For the Rovers, only 19 strokes separated them from first place Hoban as Ava Miller (92) and Morgan Giebel (94) finished in the top 10 to lead Rootstown.

The Rockets were three strokes behind the Rovers, with Sarah Crok carding a 92 as the best for Streetsboro.

Additional Portage County teams competing included Garfield (470) and Field (498).

BOYS GOLF

POLAR BEAR INVITATIONAL

Both Kent Roosevelt and Aurora competed in the Polar Bear Invitational at Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown on Monday.

The Rough Riders earned 14th place followed by Aurora in 15th in the 16-team tournament.

Jaxon Turner led the way for Roosevelt, firing a 79, with Deacon Smith carding an 83.

Aurora’s Brady Allenick and Dylan Lancaster each fired 83s for the Greenmen.

Walsh Jesuit won the team tournament (291) and Jack Mast of Hiland fired a 65 for medalist honors.
