High school golf found many events in Northeast Ohio canceled, delayed or changed due to the storms that rolled in during the early morning hours.

Several tournaments were able to finish with local teams earning top spots among the individual leaders and teams.

KENT ROOSEVELT’S ANDREW VANDAMME

The Aurora boys continue to impress in tournaments and events as the earned the championship in the Norton Invitational hosted by Ellsworth Meadows in Hudson.

The Greenmen’s Nick Pollak led all golfers with a solid under-par round of 70 .

The Rough Riders finished in ninth place and the Streetsboro Rockets earned 14th among the 18 teams in the event. Streetsboro’s senior Brody Sanford fired an 82.

In the NEO Invitational, hosted by Springfield at Good Park Golf Course in Akron, the Mogadore Wildcat finished in sixth place, Southeast Pirates, Field 17th and Ravenna 26th among the 26 teams in the event.

Angelo Rinaldi of Poland Seminary fired a 70 and Jacob Rainieri of Lake Center Christian, 74, led their respective teams.

The Southeast Pirates came back from a higher front nine score to shoot a solid back nine and finish with a team score of 355. Cole Bruno again led the Pirates shooting an 81.
