In high school golf on Monday, Southeast, Waterloo and Rootstown boys were all successful in their respective league play and the Pirate girls swept a quadrangular match at Sugar Bush Golf Course in Garrettsville.

Meanwhile several local teams continued their tournament play as the season entered its second week.

ROOTSTOWN’S NATHAN WAESCH

The Southeast boys bested Crestview at Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course with Cole Bruno leading the way, firing a 39 to earn medalist honors.

The Rootstown Rovers battled Painesville Harvey at Sunny Hill Golf Course as Nathan Waesch fired a 35 to best the individuals on both teams.

Waterloo traveled to Bedford Trails Golf Course in Lowellville to beat Springfield by 22 strokes with Jayden Eichler firing a five-over-par 36 to lead the Vikings.

The Southeast girls beat Garfield, Brookfield and Western Reserve at Sugar Bush Golf Course in Garrettsville as junior Sammy Morgan took medalist honors, carding a 37. Garfield’s best was carded by Scarlett Adkins, a 51.

In tournament action, The Lady Riders traveled to compete in the Stow Bulldogs tournament at Fox Den in Stow and finished in sixth place of 19 teams as Brook Beatty continued her solid play for Kent, scoring an 80 to lead the team.

Aurora girls shot their way to eighth place in the tourney led by Kelly MacSurak’s 81.

The Kent Roosevelt and Aurora boys traveled to Hudson Country Club for the Hudson Explorer tournament.

Aurora grabbed ninth place among the elite field of teams with Nick Pollak earning third place as an individual firing a 71.

Andrew VanDamme (79) was the best on the fairways for the Rough Riders.
