The OHSAA Northeast District Bowling tournaments are almost done as the competitors from Northeast Ohio advancing to the state tournament earn their spots.

On Sunday, the Division I district boys tournament was held at Rebman Lanes, with the Kent Roosevelt boys team and Ravenna’s Jeriah Miller all seeking to earn a trip to the state tournament in Columbus.

With the completion of the Division I boys district tournament concluded, only one qualifier remains, the Division I district girls tournament that includes the Streetsboro girls seeking to punch their ticket to the final tournament of the season.

DIVISION I BOYS

The district at Rebman Lanes in Lorain welcomed 21 teams and 21 individuals vying for the top-five spots for teams and five individuals not on qualifying teams.

There were several powerhouse teams from the area, including Boardman, the team that lived up to its reputation and grabbed the top spot in the event.

The Kent Roosevelt varsity boys team fired a total of 3,777 pins to miss the top-five spots by just 445 pins after the three regular games and the six Baker games.

Roosevelt senior Braden Latacki led the team, rolling a 556 series, and Joey Impiccini, a sophomore, tossed the high game for the Rough Riders, a 254.

“Our season is over, but what a ride we had,” said Al Petrosino, coach of the Rough Riders. “I was so proud of the boys throughout the season and this was our first time back to districts since 2022.

“We can’t wait for the 2026-27 season,” Petrosino added.

Ravenna junior, Jeriah Miller, rolled a 587 series with a 201 high game, missing the cut by 98 pins.

The district qualifiers have a great opportunity next season after earning valuable postseason experience this year.
