The NEO Futures Tour hosted a youth tournament at Tannenhauf Golf Club in Alliance with the opportunity for youth golfers to compete.

Drew Just of Rootstown competed in the Boys B Division and finished second by one stroke. Just fired a 93, losing by only one stroke to Marcus Vance of Highland.

Tournaments coming up on the NEO Futures Tour locally include: May 11 at Windmill Lakes Golf Club, June 18 at Good Park Golf Course in Akron and June 25 at Turkeyfoot Golf Course in New Franklin.

KENT STATE GOLDEN FLASHES

The Kent State women’s golf team begins their journey through the post season looking for a berth at the NCAA National Championship.

First up, the Columbus, Ohio Regional starting Monday. The Flashes continue in the three-day tournament looking to land in the top five teams. Individuals not on qualifying teams advance as well.
