The Pfeiffer Scramble has been a staple on the golf scramble schedule for 29 years, raising money for both Kent Roosevelt DECA and the Rough Rider golf teams.
Hosted by the Pfeiffer family, the event will return again this season for one final time.
The Richard Pfeiffer Scramble, named after the longtime golf coach at Kent who started the scramble 30 years ago, his sons David and Brent as well as their mom, Beth Kloskoski and families have continued the tradition.
The 30th scramble tees off with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Windmill Lakes Golf Club in Ravenna on May 31. Online registration is available.

It’s that time again.
For the 16th straight year, the Kent junior girls golf summer program begins June 11 and continues Wednesday mornings and Sunday afternoons.
The instructional golf league’s eight week program is designed for girls entering grades three through nine. Experienced golfers as well as beginners are welcome.
The goal of the program is to develop and improve golf skills in a stress-free environment, promoting learning and fun.
The program has contributed to the success of the Kent Roosevelt Lady Riders success, sending numerous teams and individuals to state each Fall.
Instruction is provided by the high school coaches with members of the Kent Lady Riders helping.
Fee is $175 and includes all greens fees/putt putt, all course/clinic instruction, bag tag, certificate, t-shirt and Kent golf ball.

The 26th annual Ravenna Football Golf Classic tees off at Windmill Lakes Golf Club in Ravenna on June 14 with registration at noon and shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The outing is $500 per foursome and includes lunch prior to the event, balls on the range and warm-up.
The four-person scramble includes hot dog lunch, catered pulled pork dinner, one mulligan, beverages, 50/50 raffle, donated prize drawings hole prizes and cart gifts.
Men play the white tees, women the Red and seniors 65 and older compete tee off at the silver tees.

The Kent State women’s varsity golf team competed in the Columbus Regional this week following winning their 26th Mid-American Conference Championship.
Following three, 18-hole rounds, the women fell just short of advancing to the NCAA Championship, earning seventh place, just outside of the top five teams that advanced.
The Flashes flirted with the fifth spot throughout the three rounds but just feel short by seven strokes when play concluded.
Aryn Matthews, in her freshman year at Kent State from Canada, finished the highest for Kent, earning a tie for 14th place after recording three rounds at two-over-par.
