The Streetsboro Middle School cross country team competed at the state championship meet in Obetz on Oct. 23.

The Rockets’ girls started the day in a field of 134 competitors in their heat. Sunni McKenzie led the team, placing 35th overall in a time of 13:43.3.

The boys, who ran in the afternoon heat that included 135 racers, were led by Ty Zipprich’s 17th-place finish. Zipprich ran a time of 12:11.5.

Both McKenzie and Zipprich are eighth-graders.
