MATT DILLON

Matt Dillon is returning to coach the Southeast High School boys basketball team.

Dillon, who coached the Pirates for six seasons from 2007-13, was board approved on Monday night.

“We are extremely excited to bring Matt back as our boys basketball coach,” Southeast athletic director Patrick Youel said. “He will develop strong relationships with our student-athletes, and we look for him to grow and get our program back to the great tradition our boys teams have had throughout the years.”

Dillon is a teacher at Southeast Middle School, Southeast Middle School assistant boys basketball coach and the Mogadore High School baseball coach.

He was the coach of the Pirates’ boys basketball team for its last title when they won the Portage Trail Conference County Division championship during the 2011-12 season.

Dillon replaces Mike Matisi, who coached the Pirates for five seasons and posted a 26-76 record.
