Piscitani, Morgan lead Rovers to 4-0 start

Rootstown continued its strong start to the 2023 season with its fourth straight victory.

On Friday, at Robert C. Dunn Field, the Rovers showcased some offensive balance, with 223 yards rushing and 129 yards passing.

Quarterback Ryan Piscitani, who got the Rovers on the board first with a 27-yard pass to Tristan McKibben in the first quarter, finished the game 10-of-17 through the air.

McKibben finished with 40 yards receiving, while Dawson Morgan pulled in three catches for 62 yards.

Morgan led the ground game once again, totaling 146 yards on 26 carries. He scored on a 6-yard run in the second quarter and a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The Rovers’ fourth touchdown of the game came on a 4-yard run by Dominic Duvall.

Rootstown has now allowed just 13 points combined in its last three wins and have outscored its opponents 83-13 in the process.

The Rovers will host Shenandoah in Week 5 in Rootstown.
