Vanderink won the championship in a time of 10.9 seconds, while also capturing an additional individual title in the 200 meters, while also anchoring a pair of title-winning relay teams for the Red Devils.
Vanderink advanced to the 2007 OHSAA Division II State Championships and finished as the state runner-up in the 100 meters with a time of 11.00, finishing behind only Steubenville’s Maurice Bougard, who ran a 10.80. Vanderink was also the Division II state runner-up in the 200 meters. He ran a time of 21.86 — just short of Bougard again, who clocked a 21.58.
