The 1982 Kent Roosevelt High School football team finished the season 5-5 and is remembered by retired Hall of Fame head coach John Nemec as one of his most memorable seasons.

After beginning the season 0-5, the Rough Riders won their final five games of the season. Following the team’s fifth loss in a row to began the year, Nemec worked with his players and coaching staff to completely remove the team’s offense and install a brand new one that he felt better fit his personnel.

The results were a five-game winning streak to close out the campaign.

The final week-by-week results were:

Week 1: West Geauga, 7-10

Week 2: Jackson, 13-14

Week 3: Firestone, 10-21

Week 4: Canton Timken, 13-16

Week 5: Nordonia, 3-6

Week 6: Ravenna, 10-6

Week 8: Springfield, 31-22
