The 1982 Kent Roosevelt High School football team finished the season 5-5 and is remembered by retired Hall of Fame head coach John Nemec as one of his most memorable seasons.
After beginning the season 0-5, the Rough Riders won their final five games of the season. Following the team’s fifth loss in a row to began the year, Nemec worked with his players and coaching staff to completely remove the team’s offense and install a brand new one that he felt better fit his personnel.
The results were a five-game winning streak to close out the campaign.
