The Mogadore Schools Alumni Foundation celebrated three new Distinguished Alumni to its ranks on Sept. 19 prior to the kickoff of the Wildcats’ football game against Ellet.

John Adorni, Bob Harris and Scott Novell were recognized as the group’s newest honorees.

Here is a bio on each inductee:

BOB HARRIS

CLASS OF 1965

Harris was a multi-sport athlete, who helped lead the Mogadore basketball team to the state tournament in 1964. He was the all-time career scoring leader for boys basketball in the Suburban League, despite playing without the 3-point line during his career.

In football, Harris earned First Team All-Suburban League as a defensive back, and he was also a key member of the Wildcats’ baseball program.

After graduating, Harris worked at Goodyear before opening his successful local business Harris Trophy Company, which was located in Mogadore.

Harris dedicated more than 30 years of his life as the Director of Mogadore Parks and Recreation.

JOHN ADORNI

CLASS OF 1969

Adorni was the third generation to graduate from Mogadore and was a multi-sport athlete for the Wildcats. He was a co-captain of the 1968 Mogadore football team. He worked for 20 years for the Village of Mogadore Street Department, with five of those years as the Street Supervisor.

He has been a volunteer member of the Mogadore football coaching staff, under head coach and his son Matt Adorni, since 2004, handling a variety of duties, including equipment.

SCOTT NOVELL

CLASS OF 1971

Novell was a multi-sport athlete, lettering in both wrestling and football.

Following graduation, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron, Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida. He also earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida Law School, as well as his Master of Law in Taxation from New York University.

He co-founded and developed a successful payroll processing company called Payroll Plus, which was later purchased by Automatic Data Processing (ADP). Novell also co-founded and managed the Nexus Group, which was a mergers and acquisition firm.

He later created an innovative business model for top-tier golf academies. He partnered with Todd Wilson (former NASCAR Chief Financial Officer) and presented the idea to the Golf Channel, which led to the creation of a network of world class golf academies known as Golf Channel Academy.
