SEASON OUTLOOK

Aurora’s core group of wrestlers include a pair of Suburban League champions and state-qualifiers in Luke Green and Johnny Green.

The duo are also part of five district qualifiers, which also include Michael Kennedy, Gio Kaplan and Cole Walton.

“We need to stay healthy and improve week by week,” Johnson said.

LIGHTWEIGHTS

Luke Green at 106 pounds and Johnny Green at 113 pounds highlight the group.

The lightweights also include Nick Turba (120 pounds), Cole Munn (126) and Grant Eaton (132).

MIDDLEWEIGHTS

Aurora’s middleweights will be led by Michael Kennedy (138 pounds), Gio Kaplan (144), Drake Brasiel (150), James Blaser (157) and Cole Walton (165).

UPPERWEIGHTS

AJ Bruno and Michael Wise are currently battling for the leading spot at 175 pounds.

Meanwhile, Austin Grossman (190 pounds), Aiden Jackson (215) and Matt Copley (285) are slotted for the Greenmen.

“This is a very hard working group of wrestlers, who have put in time during the off-season and preseason,” Johnson said.
