“We are going to be young and inexperienced in a lot of our weight classes,” head coach Eric Kline said. “Ryder Denning and Bradley Davis will be our experienced leaders.”
“Every wrestler needs to be all in this season and committed to work extremely hard every day. We also must stay healthy all year. Last year, we had about seven or eight of our starters out for the year due to preseason and injuries during the year that prohibited them from wrestling last season.”
(103-132 POUNDS)
Kline points to Andrew Malden and Brandon Nichols to be the leaders of the lightweights this season and sas they have the “potential to be very good.”
“They need to take their God given talents to another level this year and be focused on getting better every day.
“They can be very good, but it is up to them to find that drive and passion to reach the potential they have.”
(138-165 POUNDS)
The middleweights are highlighted by Ryder Denning and Carsyn Swauger.
“Ryder has put in a lot of work this off-season, with me and other off-season clubs. Carsyn had a season-ending injury from football last year, but he has potential to be a leader for this team for the future.”
(175 POUNDS-HEAVYWEIGHT)
“Bradley Davis has also put in a lot of work this off-season, and I am expecting him to take the next step in his wrestling career with the goal of competing in Columbus in March.”
“We are finally having leaders step up for this program, with the likes of Ryder Denning and Bradley Davis. They are setting the standard for the younger wrestlers on what it takes to be wrestling in Columbus year in and year out.”
“Noah Brode and Carsyn Swauger both had season-ending injuries last year from football. They both had fantastic middle-school careers and they need to take their wrestling commitment to the next level. Jeffrey Peterson is a freshman and is extremely athletic.”
“We must work hard and be better than we were the day before. That’s what it is going to take. No other excuses.”
“We must stay healthy the entire year. Season-ending injuries in the preseason and during the season last year really put our program behind going into this year.”
“Streetsboro and Norton have set the bar for everyone else.”
