It was 3-for-3 for Conner Hunt on Saturday.

The Garfield freshman was perfect and the reward was large: Three state championships.

Hunt bested the field in Division II in the seated 100, 400 and 800 meters at the Ohio High School Athletic Association state championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.

Hunt was the sole competitor in both the 400 (1:03.19) and 800 meters (2:15.96). In the 100 meters, his 16.68 time very nearly broke the state record of 16.45 that was set by Carrollton’s Jacob Baker in 2021.

After winning her first state championship on Friday in the seated shot put, Streetsboro junior Milena Sobie added another title to her name on Saturday by winning the seated 800 with a time of 3:09.82.

Two other seated standouts earned a spot on the podium on Saturday.

Mogadore freshman Katy Loughney in the 100 meters, while Devon Regan had a podium finish in the boys seated 100 meters.
