The Northeast District Swimming and Diving District competitions got underway on Wednesday and Thursday as the sectional qualifiers traveled to Cleveland State University’s Robert F. Busbey Natatorium.
Kent Roosevelt’s divers were the first to compete as the boys continued their journey toward the state tournament on Wednesday and the girls on Thursday.
Ethan Rodriguez, a senior for the Rough Riders, finished sixth overall and qualified to advance to the state tournament.
Kate Ennemosser, a senior for the Rough Riders, finished in eighth place to also qualify for the state tournament.
The rest of the district qualifiers for Roosevelt concluded their efforts for the season:
• Bobby Sowards, junior, 9th place
• Evann Humbert, junior, 10th
• Ella Yehle, freshman, 19th
• Lydia Arnold, freshman, 25th
• Ava Marshall, freshman, 26th
Corey Spicer, coach of the Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders, will be at Cleveland State again Friday and Saturday with the girls and boys qualifying for District swimming competitions.
