BOYS SOCCER

RAVENNA 4, COVENTRY 0

The Ravens erupted in the second half for all four goals to turn a scoreless deadlock at halftime into a convincing victory on the home blue turf in Ravenna.

Nick Iurato scored a pair of goals for Ravenna (2-1-1 MAC), while Mason Ward and Julian Rios also each scored for the Ravens.

Diego Jasso was the Ravenna goalkeeper and earned the clean sheet.

 

ROOTSTOWN 2, SOUTHEAST 0

The Rovers placed a goal in the net in each half to edge out the visiting Pirates 2-0 on Tuesday.

Nathan Pastor scored the first-half goal for the Rovers, who outshot Southeast 10-3 in the game.

The assist on the first goal came from Brady Fillmore.

Rootstown’s second-half goal was netted by Blake Postlethwait on a find by Pastor.

 

VOLLEYBALL

JACKSON-MILTON DEF. WATERLOO,

25-18, 25-12, 25-16

The Bluejays earned a three-game sweep at home over the Vikings on Tuesday.

Lexi Eddy led Waterloo, which is now 3-6 overall and 1-6 in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play, with seven points. Miranda Long added 11 assists, while Isabella Kozma had four kills and Alayan Holmes had seven digs for Waterloo.

 

BERKSHIRE DEF. CRESTWOOD,

21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-11

The Red Devils jumped out to snag the first game, but then fell in the following three in a road matchup at Berkshire.

Aimee Barnauskas had a big night at the net with 15 kills, while Abby Guyette (11 points) and Zoe Babnik (10) led the Devils in scoring.

Jazmyn Stevens had 10 assists and Barnauskas also had 12 digs for the Devils.

 

LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN DEF. ROOTSTOWN,

25-22, 25-22, 25-21

All three games were tight, but it was the Tigers that escaped with the three-game sweep over the Rovers.

Both teams entered the match undefeated in league play, with the Tigers now at 4-0 and the Rovers at 3-1.

Lindsay Smith had eight points, six kills, seven blocks and five digs, while Marina Nichols had a team-high nine points. Zoe Pastva had 20 digs for Rotostown, while Taylor Banks and Allison Strickland led with eight assists.

Lake Center Christian’s leader in service points was Jayne Barber, who had 11.
