Monday’s victory included a historic milestone for Waterloo junior standout Kaira English, who scored the 100th goal of her career in a commanding victory over Columbiana.

English scored four goals total on Monday and also added in three assists.

Olivia Boyle also netted four goals, while Rose Couts and Mya Bennett also each had multi-goal games with two each.

English is already the school’s career goals scored leader.

 

VOLLEYBALL

BOARDMAN DEF. SOUTHEAST,

25-19, 25-15, 25-14

The Pirates could not keep up with Boardman on Monday in a three-game sweep loss.

Leading Southeast statistically were Emma Janok (3 aces and 8 assists), Regan Jacobs (4 kills), Lilly Massrock (5 assists) and Kyle Bailey (19 digs).

 

CRESTWOOD DEF. ROOTSTOWN,

25-21, 25-21, 25-17

In a matchup between old league rivals, the Red Devils earned the three-game sweep, but the Rovers were competitive in all three.

Abby Guyette had nine service points for the Devils (1-2), while Aime Barnauskas had eight and four aces. Zoe Babnik had seven points, while Jazmyn Stevens added five points and three aces for Crestwood.

Rootstown’s leader was Allison Strickland, who turned in a solid all-around effort with two points, open ace, five assists, four kills, three blocks and six digs.

Zoe Pastva had eight digs for the Rovers (2-3), while Lindsay Smith had eight points and four aces.

 

BADGER DEF. WINDHAM,

25-10, 25-22, 26-24

Julia Jones did a little bit of everything for the Bombers in a losing effort, finishing the games with 16 digs, nine points, three aces and 10 kills.

Quinn Justham added 11 assists for Windham, while Bria Daniel had three blocks at the net.
