BOYS SOCCER

ROOTSTOWN 2, GARFIELD 0

The Rovers broke open a halftime tie with a pair of goals in the second half.

The first one came from Blake Postlethwait on an assist from Brady Fillmore.

Fillmore doubled up the score with another Rootstown goal. Simon Halaszy had the assist.

In goal, Trent Bauer had four saves to help preserve the shutout on the G-Men.

LOUISVILLE 4, RAVENNA 0

The Ravens lost their second straight game on Thursday to the host Leopards.

Louisville jumped out to a 3-0 lead by halftime, then notched another goal in the second half to complete the scoring.

 

FIELD 6, ALLIANCE 0

For the third straight game, the Falcons’ Kyle Schoenbeck had at least a three-goal game.

On Thursday, the senior netted four to lead the team to a commanding shutout victory over the Aviators.

Garit Greene and Mitchel Adams scored a goal each for Field.

Gavin Greene had a pair of assists in the game.

 

VOLLEYBALL

WINDHAM DEF. ST. JOHN,

25-18, 25-23, 25-23

The Bombers posted a three-game sweep at home on Thursday over St. John.

Julia Jones led the way with 11 points and eight kills, while Quinn Justham had 16 assists and Briah Daniel had eight kills and eight blocks.

Za’Nya Henderson added 13 digs, while Ka’Neese Cunningham had three aces for the Bombers.

 

ROOTSTOWN DEF. SPRINGFIELD,

25-20, 25-9, 25-17

Lindsay Smith had a big day serving in the Rovers’ three-game sweep, totaling 25 points and five aces. Taylor Banks added a nice all-around effort for Rootstown with seven points, three aces, six assists, three kills and five digs.

Allison Strickland had six points and 11 assists, while Shelbie Krieger had seven kills, seven digs and three blocks for the Rovers (2-2).

The Spartans’ leading server was Breanna Ruggiero, who finished with seven points.
