BOYS SOCCER

GARFIELD 2, MINERAL RIDGE 0

Goals in each half stood up for the G-Men in a Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference road victory on Wednesday night.

Ethan Bittence netted a first-half goal for a 1-0 halftime lead for the G-Men (2-2-1), then the insurance goal was popped in by Ollie May in the second half on an assist by Andrew Borucki.

Preston Gedeon provided a solid performance at right back and right mid, while Garfield goalkeeper Brody Justice made a pair of big saves to preserve the lead.

The loss dropped Mineral Ridge’s record to 3-2 on the season.

 

WATERLOO 7, CAMPBELL MEMORIAL 1

The visiting Vikings captured a lopsided victory on Wednesday over Campbell Memorial.

Kyler Wood scored a pair of goals, which were supported by goals apiece from Maxx Newkirk, Gabriel Jones, Vincent Mori, Gavin McClinsey and Gavin Overholt.

Two of the goals were assisted by Mason Sweitzer, while Isaac Biltz had a helper and Jones also added an assist for Waterloo.

 

GIRLS SOCCER

WATERLOO 10, BROOKFIELD 3

It was another big night for the Vikings’ girls soccer team, scoring a decisive victory on the road on Wednesday night.

Kaira English led the scoring with four goals, while Rose Costs also had a hat trick.

The Vikings also received goals by Sydney Jackson, Kayla Thompson and Olivia Boyle.

Assisting the goals for Waterloo were Thompson, Boyle, Gabby Gonzalez, Lillie Snyder and Aracelly Camacho.
