BOYS SOCCER

CRESTWOOD 10, CARDINAL 1

The Red Devils authored a dominating performance on Tuesday night, with a lopsided victory over visiting Cardinal.

Jayden Julian continued his strong start to the season, scoring four more goals in the triumphant effort. Gavin Dunfee also had a had trick for the Red Devils, who also received a multi-goal game from Luke Wilcox (2 goals).

The final goal for Crestwood was scored by Elijah Jurisch.

Julian and Kyle Shelhamer had two assists each, while Dunfee and Jurisch each had an assist.

 

VOLLEYBALL

GARFIELD DEF. NEWTON FALLS,

25-21, 25-19, 17-25, 25-9

The G-Men continued their strong start to the season with a four-game home victory over Newton Falls.

Garfield was led by the defensive standout performance of Kyla Grace, who finished the four games with 48 digs. Madeline Shirkey helped set up the attack with 27 assists, while Gabby Barnard led the team with 14 kills and Mandy Cardinal added 10 kills for the G-Men.

 

CRESTWOOD DEF. SOUTHEAST,

25-12, 25-12, 25-11

Abby Guyette led the Red Devils in scoring with 12 points, while Jazmyn Stevens had 10 points and Aimee Barnauskas seven in the road victory for Crestwood (4-2 overall).

Barnauskas added nine kills and three aces, with the Devils totaling 10 aces in the game.

Stevens also had three aces, along with eight assists.

Zoe Babnik led Crestwood in digs with six.

 

ROOTSTOWN DEF. CARDINAL,

21-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-20

After falling in the opening game, the Rovers stormed back to win the next three to knock off visiting, non-league foe Cardinal.

Marina Nichols (14 points), Lindsay Smith (10) and Zoe Pastva (9) led the serving attack for Rotostown, with Smith adding six aces.

Nichols and Pastva each had 16 digs for the Rovers (5-3), while Nadia Lough led the play at the net with 10 kills, with support from Brooklyn McIntyre with eight kills.

Allison Strickland was the distributer for Rootstown with 16 assists, while Taylor Banks had 13 assists.
