RAVENNA 7, SPRINGFIELD 1

Brynn Scott scored a hat trick to the lead the Ravens to a home Metro Athletic Conference victory over Springfield on Tuesday.

The Ravenna triumph was also highlighted by NaCol Foreman and Avonlea Jefferson scoring their first goals of the season.

Also scoring on Tuesday for the Ravens were Ashlyn Williams and Natalie Clark, who both had an assist as well.

Ravenna jumped out to a 4-0 lead by halftime.

 

VOLLEYBALL

CRESTWOOD DEF. WICKLIFFE,

25-22, 25-11, 21-25, 21-25, 15-3

The Red Devils won the tiebreaker with ease after letting a 2-0 lead slip away on Tuesday against Wickliffe in Mantua.

Zoe Babnik had an impressive serving performance with 20 points and five aces, while also having a team-high 11 digs.

Senior Aimee Barnauskas was the key recipient of Jazmyn Stevens’ team-high 20 assists, finishing with 23 kills at the net.

Maddie Dustman also had a nice game for Crestwood (7-9, 4-3). She had 17 points and nine kills.

 

ROOTSTOWN DEF. WARREN JFK,

25-13, 25-13, 25-23

The Rovers stayed in the Portage Trail Conference championship picture with a three-game sweep of Warren JFK.

Allison Strickland led the way with 14 points, six aces and 12 assists, while Marina Nichols added 11 points and Lindsay Smith had nine more for the Rovers, who improved to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Nadia Lough led the Rovers in kills with six, while Nichols also added a team-high eight digs. Zoe Pastva had seven points and seven digs for Rootstown.

The loss dropped Warren JFK to 5-8 overall and 1-6 in the PTC.

 

BOYS SOCCER

RAVENNA 6, WOODRIDGE 0

Ravens senior Mason Ward put together a hat trick to lead the Ravens’ win over the host Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Also scoring goals for the Ravens were Nick Iurato, Julian Rios and Aiden Hills.

Preserving the shutout in goal for Ravenna was Diego Jasso.
