SOFTBALL

SOUTHEAST 19, WARREN JFK 0

Pirates pitcher Morgan Muncy celebrated a tremendous game in a dominating victory on Tuesday in Warren.

Muncy tossed a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 13 Eagles batters. At the plate, Muncy was a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run.

In total, the Pirates belted out 15 hits.

Jade Whiteley had two singles and three RBI, Olivia Smith had a pair of singles and Addie Goldstein had three doubles for the Pirates.

 

AURORA 14, CUYAHOGA FALLS 0

McKennah Metzger and Sophia Retton combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter on Tuesday during the Greenmen league victory over the Black Tigers.

Metzger pitched the first three innings, and she struck out eight of the nine batters she faced.

Retton entered in the fourth inning and struck out three.

The duo threw 68 pitches in the game, with 45 landing for strikes.

Metzger also helped lead the offense, belting a home run in a 2-for-3 game that included two runs scored and three RBI.

Maggie McVicker also blasted a home run and a triple, drove in two and scored two.

 

NEW MIDDLETOWN SPRING FIELD 9, WATERLOO 5

The Vikings were able to plate a run in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 5-5 and force extra innings, but the Tigers exploded for four runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the victory.

Regan Heilman had three singles and an RBI for the Vikings, while Jewel Lilley slapped a double and single.

 

FIELD 14, WOODRIDGE 0

Olivia Bey pitched a three-hitter for the Falcons, while the offense provided plenty of support in the five-inning Metro Athletic Conference triumph.

The Falcons collected 15 hits as a team, with Maddie Burge leading the way with three doubles and five RBI.

Megan Schmidt had two singles and a double, Jessica Pollard had a double and single and Kailyn Gressman had two singles for the Falcons.

 

BASEBALL

KENT ROOSEVELT 10, AURORA 0

The Rough Riders’ Peyton Singer pitched a one-hitter to highlight the team’s five-inning rout of Aurora on Tuesday in Kent.

Singer struck out four in his outing and walked just one.

Offensively, Roosevelt (7-1, 3-1 Suburban League) was led by Scottie Spears’ 2-for-3 game. He drove in three and scored two. Ryan Schromm also drove in a pair, while Donovan Daetwyler and Logan Poole scored two runs each.

 

STREETSBORO 12, RAVENNA 0

The Rockets scored four run sin the second inning and six runs in the fourth inning to pull away from the Ravens.

Jayden Coffie led Streetsboro at the plate with a 3-for-3 effort, with three RBI and two runs. He slapped a pair of doubles and a single.

Jack Pincoe, who earned the win on the mound, striking out eight, was also solid at the plate. He was 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Ravenna was plagued by 11 errors in the game and managed just four hits against Pincoe.
