GARFIELD 52, FIELD 31

The G-Men put on a non-league clinic on Wednesday in a convincing win over the Falcons in Brimfield.

Garfield stormed out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter, which ballooned to 34-11 by halftime.

The G-Men won the third quarter, too, 18-6, to hold a 52-17 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Garfield was led by Laura McCoy’s 25 points. She hit nine field goals, including five from 3-point range. Mandy Cardinal scored 17 points and Madeline Shirkey connected on 5-of-7 free throws and finished with seven points for the G-Men. Shirkey also had a game-high nine rebounds.

Field’s offensive leader was Delilah Rahe with 14 points, while Mckayla Miller added nine points. Rahe, along with Abby Harlin, had a team-high five rebounds each.

 

KENT ROOSEVELT 59, AKRON NORTH 13

The Rough Riders’ defense held the Vikings to single-digit totals in all four quarters, while the offense was efficient and consistent for the Rough Riders.

Saniya Moxley led the Riders with 14 points, while Katie Keller and Lexie Canning joined her in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Roosevelt led 29-4 at halftime and 49-9 going into the fourth quarter.
