SOUTHEAST 35, MOGADORE 34
In a game played at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhosue in Cleveland, it was the Pirates that claimed the narrow one-point victory in a Portage Trail Conference matchup.
Only four Pirates scored in the game, but all four made solid contributions, with Cami McPeak, Kayla Grope and Sophia Fisher all scoring nine points each, while Anna Keto added eight points for Southeast.
Mogadore’s top-scorer was McKenna Whitehead, who finished with 13 points, while Brook McIntyre had nine points and seven rebounds. Jocelynj Lawrentz also pulled down seven rebounds for the Wildcats.
BOYS BASKETBALL
FIELD 56, CRESTWOOD 46
The Falcons snapped a seven-game losing streak and picked up their first victory of the season with a double-digit triumph over the Red Devils in Mantua on Monday.
Joe Crawford was the high-point man for Field (1-7) with 18 points, while Braxton Baumberger and Grady Eader each scored 11 points for the Falcons.
Baumberber also had a team-high seven rebounds.
The two teams battled to a 13-13 tie after the first quarter, then Field gained a slight advantage by halftime at 28-23.
Dekota Johnson was the Devils’ leading scorer with 21 points.
In the JV game, the Falcons were led to victory with Landon Wilmoth’s 35 points.
