CATS WIN ON TIEBREAKER

The Wildcats’ consistency was the important factor as they beat Louisville due to the fifth-man tie breaker.

After playing nine holes at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Alliance, the top four golfers for both Mogadore and Louisville were tied at 166.

Tyler Pendergast (38), Brock Thiry (39), Max Simone (44) and Max Shannon (45) totaled the 166 for the Wildcats as Blake Waterhouse turned in a scorecard with a 46 following the top four scores.

Louisville’s top-four golfers also fired 166 followed by fifth and sixth men, Landon Lydick and Camilio Rodriguiz, each carding 48s, two strokes higher than Waterhouse and assuring the win for Mogadore.

The Wildcats now have an outstanding record of 13 wins with only one loss.

PIRATES MOVE TO 10-2 IN MVAC

James Morgan, Alex Peelish and Owen Dombroski tied each other carding a 2-over-par 38 for all three golfers to lead Southeast in a victory over Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference competitor Newton Falls 154-214.

Cole Bruno and Ethan Shodd shot 44s on their way to the win that improves Southeast overall to 11-3.

With Shade Stevens firing a 44, all six Southeast golfers beat the best golfer representing Newton Falls, Aiden McCausland 45.

ROOSEVELT GIRLS BEST COLTS

Brooke Beatty took home medalist honors, firing a 40 at The Fairways at Twin Lakes as Kent Roosevelt beat Cloverleaf 175 to 201.

BROOKE BEATTY, KENT ROOSEVELT

Beatty was followed by Kate Ennemoser (44), Coco Golden (45) and Kaila Kovolyan (46) as the Rough Riders took home the win on their home course.

The Colts’ best was fired by Quinn Malarkey (42).

ROVERS WIN BY 19 STROKES

Rootstown’s girls topped United 187 to 206 on the Par-34 fairways of Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield.

Morgan Giebel led the Rovers to victory, firing a 44, with Ava Miller adding a 46, Chloe Gardner a 48 and Anna Drago a 49.

The Rovers are now 8-7 overall and 8-2 in the MVAC.

THE VIKES BEAT MINERAL RIDGE

The Vikings spent the afternoon at Duck Creek Golf Course winning a close match over Mineral Ridge 178 to 183.

Jayden Eichler was the medalist for Waterloo carding a 40, 5-over-par, followed by Mason Long’s 43, Blade Ascerrunz 45 and Trevor Flarida 50.

Jackson Geddes fired a 44, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit for Mineral Ridge as Waterloo won by five strokes.

Waterloo improves to 4-10 in the MVAC Scarlet Division.
