Greenberg wants her team to share the basketball and not rely on any one particular scorer.
“We are looking to play team basketball,” the veteran coach said. “Move without the ball and get everyone involved offensively.”
“We are competitive within the conference and play to the best of our abilities.”
Aurora’s backcourt features speed, vision and ball-handling.
Paired with the athleticism of the frontcourt, the Greenmen will have the ability to get into transition consistently.
Five returning letterwinners spotlight the position.
Greenberg said that Addison Witting “worked incredibly hard during the off-season” to prepare for the year.
“She can score and is an excellent defender,” Greenberg said.
Brooke Pierce is another scoring threat, with the ability to get to the rim quickly. She is also another “great defender,” according to Greenberg.
Autumn Eichenhauer is described as a “great defender, attacks the rim hard and shoots the outside shot.”
Jillian Monastero and Caitlin Pierce are also factors.
“Jillian is very athletic, and she can get to the rim and shoot from the outside. Caitlin is quick and aggressive, and she is a nice defender who attacks the rim well.”
Reese Witting and Abbey Feckner highlight the group and will also be team leaders.
“Reese has nice height inside, and she can post and score or shoot outside,” Greenberg said. “She is great on inside defense, too.
“Abbey has nice post moves and is a good rebounder,” Greenberg added.
Brooke Warnke, soph.; Kaleigh Rogonjic, soph.; Hope Kanouff, soph.
“We have limited numbers through our whole program this season,” Greenberg said. “We need to stay healthy throughout this season.”
“Ideally, we will be contending for a conference championship, but it will be tough to compete with Highland and Copley,” Greenberg said.
