TEAM OUTLOOK

Tempo is the key for the Falcons, according to head coach John Misenko, and he wants it on both sides of the court.

“We want to play fast and push the ball, and we also want to create offense off our defense.”

WE HAVE A SUCCESSFUL SEASON IF…

“If we get better every day in practice and that translates onto the court in games. Our goals are to compete in the Metro Athletic Conference.”

GUARDS

The team lacks experience overall, but the most experience they do have is in the backcourt.

Senior Morgan Stoicoiu will be a team leader after coming off the bench last season.

“She is a leader on and off the court, and she can shoot the basketball and drive as well. I expect Morgan to have a good season this year.”

Sophomores Peyton Schock and Audrey Richmond established themselves in the rotation a year ago and now will be starters.

“Peyton was one of the scoring leaders for the JV team last year and played in some varsity games. I am expecting her to play a ton and provide scoring, defense and leadership for the team.

Richmond is the team’s top returning scorer from a year ago (3.2 points per game).

“Audrey will have to do a lot for us. She can play any guard position, shoots the ball well and is a good defender. I expect her to take a leap forward for us after getting some experience last year as a freshman.”

FORWARDS

A senior and a freshman highlight the group.

Nema McAmis is the senior, and she brings length, activity and toughness.

“She plays hard and is a good defender, who can guard multiple positions. I am looking forward to her being a good leader to help our young players improve.”

Alison Church is the freshman, and she is a high-motor player with potential to help in a variety of areas.

“Alison can play multiple positions on the floor. I think she is going to have a good first year, because she is very coachable and a hard worker, who wants to improve every day.”

CENTERS

Freshman Sophia Confer will provide an immediate impact.

“My expectations for Sophia is that she continues to improve from game to game as she adjusts to playing varsity basketball.”

UNDERCLASSMEN TO WATCH

Rylee Stoicoiu, soph.; Paige Eldreth, fresh.; Ryann Huddleston, fresh.

CAUSE FOR CONCERN

“We are young and inexperienced.”

LEAGUE OUTLOOK

Misenko said he believes that Cloverleaf, Streetsboro and Norton will be the top teams in the Metro Athletic Conference.
