Week 6 of the high school football season is here, which means that we have officially hit the second half of the season.

The Fridays continue to arrive quickly and exit quickly.

I will be in Brimfield tonight to cover the Falcons, who host the Ravenna Ravens at Kenneth Lohr Stadium in a Metro Athletic Conference matchup.

ASSOCIATED PRESS STATE POLL

The second Associated Press state poll was released this week.

Portage County had two teams ranked.

Garfield was voted 10th in Division V, staying in the same spot it was in last week’s poll. The G-Men received 33 points in the voting process.

In Division VI, Rootstown also remained in its same position, with the Rovers ranked sixth. For the second straight week, Rootstown also received one first-place vote, helping account for 93 points.

Both Garfield and Rootstown are 5-0 this season.
