Here we go!
Week 4!
For most of the area’s team, this is the week that kicks off league play.
For smaller conferences like the Portage Trail Conference, league play waits until later.
The start of league play, though, means the quest for a league championship starts tonight.
There are a lot of teams that enter with title aspirations.
Good luck to all!
There are winning attitudes and losing attitudes.
Both exist inside you and you get the choice on which to choose.
Every part of the game was an impossible task at some point.
Something as simple as throwing the ball 15 yards down the field is something you could not do.
So the part of the game that seems “impossible” now is only that way because there is still work to be done to get there.
A losing attitude will make the impossible always be the impossible.
A winning attitude will make the impossible a personal challenge to achieve.
Attitudes become a habit of thinking.
Players with a winning attitude are enthusiastic, uplifting, coachable and positive leaders on a team.
Players with a losing attitude are selfish, easily frustrated and are the first with poor body language.
Either way, every one of those things are based on personal choice.
And each one, and many more on an ever-important list of characteristic traits impacted by attitude, set the tone for a team’s locker room, establish a team culture or identity and set the path for where seasons will go.
All long before talent is measured between players and between teams.
Another beautiful night for high school football.
At kickoff, 78 degrees, no rain and only some clouds.
By the fourth quarter, 75 degrees and still no rain.
