The OHSAA Division II boys swimming and diving state tournament was held on Thursday at the CT Branin Natatorium in Canton.

The Kent Roosevelt boys team were among the qualifiers to the prestigious final tournament of the season.

Individuals Sam Love earned 28th overall in the 50 Freestyle, completing the event in a time of 22.79.

Max Froman qualified for the 100 Breaststroke and also finished in 28th place with a time of 1:02.08.

Froman and Love joined Moses Hanson and Sam Amodio on the Boys 200 Freestyle Relay to swim their way to 20th place with a time of 1:31.73.

Hanson and Amodio are both seniors.

“I’m extremely proud of these boys for the fantastic season they have had,” said Kent Roosevelt coach Corey Spicer. “From bringing home their fourth consecutive league championship to keeping the trend of getting boys out to the state meet, they continue to set the bar higher for the future swimmers to aim for.

“We will miss this senior class. They are an amazing group of kids,” Spicer added.
