Imagine knowing you are the top 12 in anything.

The Mogadore team has that wonderful knowledge as the varsity golf team advanced to the OHSAA Division III State Tournament, working their way through the sectional and district to finish 12th in the state tournament at North Star Golf Course in Sunbury.

The two-day state tourney concluded on Tuesday.

“Such a wonderful team,” said Chris Mossa, coach of the varsity golf team.

“This is one of the hardest working, dedicated groups I’ve ever coached in my 20 years. I couldn’t be more proud of the effort and dedication to the program,” Mossa continued.

The coach complimented seniors Tyle Pendergast and Jude Thiry, who closed their careers in grand style.

“They are two of the best in program history,” said Mossa. “I am so thankful to my players, parents and assistant coach Jason Dannemiller to help make this season a very special year.

“High-school golf is a demanding sport and the effort of the 2025 Wildcats should be appreciated. I know I do and am so proud of their success,” said Mossa.

Also at the state tournament was Jacob Rainieri of Mogadore, playing as an representing Lake Center.

Rainieri finished sixth in the state combining two rounds for a 152.
