The Polar Bear Invitational, held at Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown on Wednesday, featured many of the best teams in Northeast Ohio and the Aurora Greenmen did not disappoint.

ROOSEVELT’S ANDREW VANDAMME

Aurora finished second only to Massillon Jackson, missing the championship by four strokes and in a tie with Walsh Jesuit.

Kent Roosevelt competed in the same event, with freshman Andrew VanDamme landing in the top-four individuals firing a 1-over-par 73.

In other matches and tournaments, the Southeast boys competed in the Brookfield Invitational, the Southeast girls swept a tri-match with their lowest-match score of the season, Waterloo boys were again victorious, Rootstown split a home triangular match at Sunny Hill Golf Course and Streetsboro topped Twinsburg at Gleneagles Golf Course.

Van Damme’s top four score included four birdies on his way to the 73.

Junior Jax Turner added an 80 to Roosevelt’s efforts.

SOUTHEAST’S JENNI MIX
