SOUTHEAST 152, CRESTVIEW 171

The Southeast boys varsity team, defending champion of the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference, picked up their first win in conference play, defeating Crestview by 19 strokes at Beaver Creek Meadows Golf Course in Lisbon.

For the Pirates, Cole Bruno, firing an even-par round of 35, and Owen Dembroski carding one-over-par 36, provided the one-two punch the visiting team needed to devour Crestview.

Finishing the scoring for the Pirates was Ethan Shodd 40, Logan Shodd 41 and Logan Blankenship 46.

CHAMPION 159, GARFIELD 205

The G-Men found Bristolwood Golf Course in Lisbon a tough track as they lost their first MVAC match to Champion 159 to 105

Best on the links for the G-Men was Broden Neal firing a 43. Gavin Torok earned medalist honors (39) for Champion.

LADY SPARTAN INVITATIONAL

ROOTSTOWN’S MORGAN GIEBEL

The annual Lady Spartan Invitational at Chenoweth Golf Club in Akron featured Streetsboro, Garfield and Rootstown among the 14 teams.

The Rovers’ Morgan Giebel finished third among the 70 individual golfers at the tournament, firing an 88 to lead the Rovers. Rootstown finished 11^th  in the event.

Streetsboro finished seventh and the Lady G-Men ninth as the Lady Rockets’ Aryana Puleo carded a 92 and Garfield’s Addison Snyder fired a 109 to lead their respective teams.

LADY EXPLORER INVITATIONAL

Southeast Lady Pirates finished seventh and the Aurora Lady Greenmen finished ninth in a tough field at the Lady Explorer Invitational hosted by Hudson at Lake Forest Country Club.

Sammy Morgan, a junior for the Pirates, finished seventh as an individual in the scoring, carding an 83 on the tight fairways of Lake Forest.

Joining Morgan to push Southeast into the top seven of the tournament was Emily Morrison 102, Jennifer Mix 106 and Kristen Dillon 108.

Aurora, just six strokes shy of Southeast in the team standings, was led by Kelly MacSurak carding a 91 with Bennett Deluca 97, Mia Custer 107 and

Alyssa Rodenhauser 110.
