The OHSAA state golf tournaments have concluded, league champions are in the books and the Northeast Ohio Golf Coaches have met to name the first team and second team individuals on the All-District team.
The top-two teams in Portage County, the Southeast varsity girls advancing to third in the state tournament and the Mogadore Wildcats, 11th in the state this season, were the best and individuals on both teams were named to the All-District team.
For the girls in Division II, both Sammy Morgan (Second Team All-Ohio) and Jenni Mix, juniors on the Pirates’ golf team were named to the All-District team.
Southeast’s Emily Morgan and Garfield’s Addison Snyder were voted onto the district’s second team.
In Division I, junior Brooke Beatty, competing for Kent Roosevelt, was named to first team after an outstanding season that saw her lead the Riders to the Metro Athletic Conference title.
It was a common theme as Sammy Morgan, Jenni Mix and Emilly Morrison were among the Southeast golfers not only lead the team to the state tournament, but earning the district championship and the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference championship.
For the boys in Division I, senior Nick Pollak of Aurora was also named to the First Team All-District as the Greenmen won the Suburban League title.
In Division III for the boys, both Brock Thiry and Max Shannon, competing for the Mogadore Wildcats, were recognized for their solid efforts leading the team to the DIII state tournament.
