The Field Middle School seventh grade volleyball team captured the Metro Athletic Conference championship on Wednesday, defeating Norton in thrilling fashion in a matchup that was hosted by Coventry.

The Falcons rallied to win the first game, then dropped the second game to the Panthers.

Norton held control of the third game for the majority of the way before Field was able to finally pull even 19-19. Norton responded to Field’s rally and reclaimed a 24-21 lead in the decision game.

The Falcons, however, pulled off an exciting mini-rally to tie the game 24-24 and were on the brink of elimination twice in the extra points before finally pulling off a 30-28 come-from-behind triumph.

The team is coached by Anne Carlson and includes: Emma Long, McKinley Wetzel, Juliana Baker, Allison Barto, Audrey Richmond, Jaelyn Malott, Myah Cadwell, Eliana Lenington, Riley Docherty, Peyton Schock, Aubrey Homan and CJ Edwards.

My granddaughter plays for the 8th grade team and had another commitment last night. I just couldn’t stay home, had to go watch this amazing group of girls pull off this win. They’re amazing.
