The Field Diamond Boys 12U team recently won the Mogadore Early Bird Tournament championship to begin their 2023 season.

After playing strongly during pool play, the Diamond Boys earned the No. 1 overall seeded going into bracket play.

Field reached the title game with victories over the Lake Express Reds and a comeback triumph over the Barberton Nomads, using a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead before time expired.

In the championship game, Field matched up against Waterloo and jumped out to an 8-0 lead before the game was called after 3.5 innings of play because of rain.

With the lead when the clouds opened up, the Diamond Boys were crowned tournament champions.

The team includes Chase Berthold, Evan Jackson, Kamren Brastine, Tristan Zeman, Ricky Baggott, Mason Fulst, Christian Fisher, Adam Fanger, Dylan Benshoff and Grayson Border.
